Function:

The JO/CINC Advisory Committee monitors the Revised Kansas Code for Care of Children and the Revised Kansas Juvenile Justice Code and studies issues relating to juveniles.

Assignment:

The JO/CINC Advisory Committee monitors and updates, as necessary, the forms it prepared for use under the Revised Code for Care of Children and the Revised Juvenile Justice Code.

The Committee completed its study of 2010 HB 2603 relating to expungement of juvenile criminal records and provided its report to the 2011 Legislature. The Committee also reviewed, and concurred with, the Criminal Law Advisory Committee's report on a proposed child witness protection act. In addition, the Committee completed its study of 2010 SB 459 relating to juvenile jury trials and proposed legislation on the issue in the 2011 legislative session.
