The Appeals from Termination of Parental Rights Advisory Committee studies appeals dealing with the termination of parental rights.

Assignment:

The Appeals from Termination of Parental Rights Advisory Committee has studied appeals dealing with the termination of parental rights, including Child in Need of Care, adoption, and other proceedings, with the primary goal that final placement and permanancy be achieved in the shortest amount of time possible while preserving the due process rights of all concerned. The Supreme Court has reviewed and accepted the Committee's report and the Appellate Courts have made some of the changes proposed in the report. Full implementation of the recommendations cannot be accomplished until the research attorney position recommended in the report is funded by the Legislature.
